Why tap water to cook, just heat?
My water heater is new, and in the garage. My kitchen faucet at the end away from home (1400 sq. ft. home). The water from my kitchen faucet is not hot, while the shower (s) are real hot, hot. My water heater setting medium-high level is more energy effiecient.
You have a long "run" to supply hot water to the kitchen. The water line hot should not be isolated – it should be. What size pipe is it? Propably 2.1 ". You might consider using 8.3" copper tube for this race kitchen and isolation. You may also consider increasing the temperature on the parameters of a little more. Take the "summit" to close the kitchen faucet clean to ensure a flow of water coming out.
